The major difference between assignments and exams in Pensive is that exams are templated. This means that we expect the students to write their answers all at the same place, following the template.
Note: This doesn't mean that you can't create a templated homework using the assignment feature! You can still create a templated homework as an assignment, it's just that we will treat it as a non-templated assignment when we grade it.
Because exams are templated, there is one additional step to configure it - marking the areas for student work.
